BanjerDan

My name is Dan Mazer. Using the stage name "BanjerDan," I'm a banjo player/multi-instrumentalist living in Laurel, MD. My style is an Americana mix, rooted in straight-ahead bluegrass and branching off into country, folk, blues, and all the music I've learned in 30+ years of playing stringed instruments and performing music professionally.

Both as a solo artist and as a member of "J.B. Beverley & The Wayward Drifters," I have benefitted from my music's performance on Internet Radio. The Wayward Drifters were the #1 band on RAM Radio's charts in 2005 and 2006. The band's success spurred interest in my solo CD, so I noticed increased sales; and the attention the band has received has resulted in direct benefits for me and the other members of the group, in the form of increased CD sales, more bookings and better guarantees.

I urge you to protect RAM Radio and other independent, internet-based media. This issue is not only of concern to artists who want their music heard and/or stories read, but also to journalists who use non-traditional media to publish facts that are not covered by corporate- or government-controlled sources.

Ron McAdaragh

I have just set up my own recording system running Pro Tools. I plan to have my first CD done soon with out stations like this this could become inposible for me to get it out to the public. By the way I am disabled so this is my last chance. Please think about this further.

Danny Longhair Band

We have been putting original music on the web since pre-MP3.com days, and internet radio has brought us many new listeners. We can only hope that  a sensible solution can be found that will not leave webcasters in the USA at a disadvantage.

Rosetta

We have been together for about 3 years and seen most of our popularity grow thanks to amazing things like college radio, and internet radio, and if this dies, then a lot of bands just like us will have little to no opportunity for exposure short of being picked up by a major-label, which is so far fetched.

Polyvibe Records

As an entertainment business owner, I am clear that removing power from the artists will only result in a mass exodus of artists and musicians from the US.

Aviance

I am a Dj, so I just need to listen to the new music, before I'll buy official release.

Just Off Turner

As independent musicians, getting our music to as many people is essential to our success (or failure).  Without major label money, our reach is limited to what we can accomplish under our own power and resources.  Our opportunity to reach any significant audience will be diminished with this bill.  Please reconsider the impact it has on independent musicians.

Mel Bay Records

I'm the marketing director for Mel Bay Records, a division of Mel Bay Publications.  Our CDs are played by conventional radio stations as well as cable and satellite services and internet broadcasters.  There is absolutely no reason why internet radio services should pay higher fees than other media.

Noel Miller

I have had some recent success with internet radio. It has provided me with a place to have my music heard.

DeadEnd Cowboys

please reverse this as internet radio has now been able to broadcast such amazing diversity that we have not seen before.  PLEASE!!

Neon Egypt

A big fan of Internet radio since its inception, Neon Egypt has been featured on many Internet stations around the globe.

Counting on the Co-pilot

Our band has been inspired by many of the artists we have discovered on internet radio. We’ve been together for almost 4 months and writing many of our songs would not have been possible without listening to internet radio.

Next To Nothing

Pandora has inspired me to become a better artist and someday be on it.

BMZ

Internet radio is a great way for independant artists to be heard. Don't choke the life out of internet radio.

Champagne

Internet radio is my primary source for new and different music.  There is so much music presented on internet radio that can't be heard anywhere else.  As a listener and a musican, I am greatful for services like AccuRadio and other internet radio stations.  Let's not let this resource be silenced.
Robert Mitchell

Tracy Mitchell

I am a musician. I pride myself by not listening to mainstream radio. I love the freedom and choice that internet radio has to offer, particularly Pandora radio, which happens to be my favorite. I'm signing this petition in an effort to help keep Pandora and other internet programs alive.

Potter Street Records

We love internet radio!  Not only do we listen, but we broadcast at radio.awip.us. Please save internet radio!

The Funk Idea

I believe online radio stations are a great way for we artists to show our music to the world. as a singer in a country were there's not much support to musicians (Ecuador) I here thank internet radios for opening new horizons to my music... please save net radios!!

Idiot Box

Internet radio is the only place most artists will ever have the opportunity to distribute their music to a wider audience.  Bands who are actually to the point where someone will pay them royalties have no business in this forum.  The can get their royalties from broadcast air play, which they are incredibly gifted to have as a medium.

Storybox

My music would never be heard around the world without the support of webcasters like Live365 and other internet stations. I am forever grateful to them. It's time to help them now. Stop this madness!
