internet radio provides us the ability to reach fans all over the world and earn a living.
without these fans, no livelyhood.
there is already a monopoly on fm radio. give the avg. hard working artists, who are willing to bust their butt to make a career a chance!

You guys are weak.
I should choose if I want to charge people for my music.
Internet radio is an extreamly important part of promotion to any band at any level.
I'm a young kid (18 yrs old) with a dream trying to make sure the music stays alive.
My band Tripsitter had been getting heavy internet airplay for the past few years now. Airplay which has greatly contributed to the success of our band. MTV licensed a few songs for use in their shows because of iternet radio exposure as did several gigs at venues like the House of Blues and several clubs in Hollywood. Basically, to kill internet radio like that will make an already difficult business even more so for independent artists who's only means of radio exposure is the interent.
I want my music out!
Due to the excess and unreasonable increase in internet radio fees, more and more artists will not be discovered. Our chances of having our music released will be cut dramatically and this is a loss I will not tolerate. Especially if other radio companies do not have to pay as much as internet radio.
Internet radio levels the playing field for musicians from all backgrounds and experience levels. The music industry is increasingly harder to break into these days and Internet Radio is a vehicle by which musicians are given a fair chance to be successful.
Internet radio allows for the furthered development and cultivation of artistic endeavors. By stifling the existence of internet radio with increased fees, a self-defeating paradigm is established. Fee increases will no doubt drive hundreds of stations to bankruptcy, limiting artist outlets, as well as decreasing the amount of revenue collected in sum. Sadly, many independent artists, such as myself, rely on internet radio to reach an engaged and supportive audience. Though I belong to a publish and royalty collection agency (ASCAP), I rarely see any 'pay-out'. Dismantling internet radio would essentially suffocate a major artery of creative growth within the United States.
I started broadcasting music back when Winamp was young. Then I started DJing and producing electronic music, which I worked into my streams. I've been outspoken against the corporate radio giants that have been sucking the soul out of the airwaves for twenty years, and the only station I listen to is KCRW out of LA, and I listen to it streamed on the Internet.
I only hope that as an artist, producer, and fan of Internet radio that we can save it.
as an independent music band, we depend on internet radio to help us reach a larger audience, as most regular radio stations have specific formats that most of us independent artists do not fit.
My Story is that although BMI NEVER pays me anything of substance, they still collect the fees. But these fees should NOT be so high as to derail internet radio airplay. I had rather the music continue, than to be stifled and killed.

Our creative culture is in jeopardy. Powerful corporate interests are making it harder for independent artists to survive. Internet radio serves an essential function to them and countless consumers. Please consider the social cost projected years into the future of these retroactive actions. These actions defeat the purpose of copyrights, which are to provide an INCENTIVE to create are that doesn't already exists. This action makes no sense.
"Traditional radio" has been bought by the large, corporate record companies. The revolution of the internet, while damaging revenues through illegal downloading, has opened the door for most music artists to have an avenue to the public through internet radio. Please let the true artists filter through on the web and let the Brittany Spears type "packaged or plastic" artists dissapear along with the money grubbing record companies.
Internet Radio provides a great service for local and regional bands trying to make their mark. Without this valuable tool, it will make promoting and trying to make a name for ourselves extremely difficult in an already difficult field. Many musicians have become apathetic to the government, and already feel repressed by the countries current state. Show us different by not passing this obsurd request.
With out internet raido it will make it harder for the Indi artist to promote there works. We need the net tunes
I'm an independent singer/songwriter. I believe this action will further the monopoly of the big record companies and squash the little guy. The internet is something that most indie artist rely on for exposure of their music. Please don't take that away.
We are independent artists who rely on public radio and internet radio to get our music out to the public. We see NO VALUE in penalizing inernet radio broadcasters with these new excessive royalty rates for the sake of increasing royalty revenues. PLEASE reverse this decision and it's potentially distatrous results to internt radio and the music industry!
I own a record label and publishing company and internet radio helps my artist be heard. They should ONLY pay normal rates
the increase of fees to broadcast internet radio is unfair please leave them alone or free for that matter..or allow licences on public air wave FM/AM to be drasticly reduced..spend moe time on import tarifs for over seas good like Cars and All the products MAYTAG/KENMORE/ to keep the jobs in a
Weakening middle class america. Do something morally correct be for people before we take to the streets...
