Im Neil Dam Producer and DJ of Electronic and Dance music. As an American it is more difficult to find quality dance music to listen too, and as an artist inspiration is key to devoloping quality tracks that people enjoy. The only other thing I enjoy more than composing is listening to good music, net radio makes it possible for me to do so freely.
modern music would be dead without sites like pandora to show us insight into the bands we enjoy and artists who are like them or may have influenced them. Save internet radio... We all beseech you.
Dear, RIAA and all other responsible for the new legislation
I feel music is purely a an expression of one's self through uplifting and amazing "noise". It shouldn't be incurred or inhibited upon especially taxed! Music shouldn't be a money game it should be about getting haerd and having your message known. I feel this act is is almost criminal, a crime against music,.
I love pandora. It's a constant source of new music that I would otherwise not know about. I want my music on pandora when it is ready!
I'm a Drum & Bass DJ, and avid music lover. I LOVE internet radio, and believe it is very beneficial to artists, and fans alike.
I am a radio veteran with over 25 years in broadcast. I am also a singer/songwriter. Most of my successes to date have been Internet based. I love the accessibility that the Internet brings to broadcast. Please don't silence this exciting new medium.

I have a winter home in Brownsville, TX as well as a home in Winnipeg, Canada ,however Internet Radio has helped me as an Independent singer entertainer make a living up here in Canada as singers up here are not considered seriouslt unless they are getting airplay out of the USA! I also have many American musician friends that are able to earn a living due to the aid of Internet Radio playing their music as well!
Even when they come up here to Canada to play and entertain they need the Internet Radio stations promoting their music!
Main stream radio will not play Indie artists or labels therefore ultimately losing Internet Radio is going to cause a lot of unemployment for not only artists but the musicians that back these artists up!
One thing we as musicians don't need as artists, is to end up on the unemployment line!
Please help! We are only asking for the right to work as entertainers and be heard via Internet broadcast! Please help make the broadcast license fees more feasible, reasonable and democratic for small broadcasters!
Over the past 5 years i have been listening to internet radio which has helped me as an artist progress in my music. Be being able to listen to online-radio you can listen to it from all over the world as well as your own back yard. By taking this away is taking away the right to freedom and expression. Internet radio is not somthing that we earned so it should not be somthing that should be taken away. its a right.
Internet radio is among the most vital avenues we use to attract new fans. Both as an artist and as a listener of Internet radio, I ask you to rethink this crushing policy and protect Internet radio on behalf of small artists the world over.
Internet radio is the the BEST way that people find new music. This legislation will make finding an audience even more difficult than it already is. This legislation will KILL developing artists.
internet radio has been a continued source of inspiration for my music, the internet is a great way to hear bands you won't hear anywhere else and as an experimental noise artist I consider this a blessing
I am a working composer and touring musician. I believe that many artists such as myself will not receive radio play, due to the confines of radio broadcast genres. Those of us who are beyond the boundaries of pop music rely on services like internet radio to reach listeners. We believe that a musical dialogue--one where many voices are allowed to speak--is necessary to the wellbeing of our culture. Internet radio provides a way to listen to this dialogue, and a viable way for smaller artists to participate. Additionally, I am a Pandora listener.
Stop these stupidities. I'm European and listen to Internet radio exclusively. Some of the best channels are American, why the h*** do you want to stop me listening to them? If I hear something interesting over the Internet I go and buy a CD, most of whose price ends up in US anyway. So what do you REALLY gain in making life for sites like Pandora impossible? And this is for the keepers of Pandora: don't you realize that you're being listened around the world? If yes, why do I need to pretend to be american to help you guys keep the stream flowing?

This will effect every true musician and artist in a major way... if we are willing to allow the only outlets that give support to unsigned and independent artists to fall by the wayside, that is a sad sad thing. This is the year 2007, and internet radio should not be run by aol radio alone.
I'm 55 yrs old, have been a musician all of my life. I'm recently separated from my wife of 30 yrs and going through a divorce, after being deemed disabled and unable to work at my day job I had for 17 yrs. Through internet radio, I've had a chance to get my original music heard by audiences I was never allowed inside the door for air time at regular radio stations. Internet radio has given me a great chance at the life in the music industry I had set aside to raise a family, that has kicked me to the curb, now that I am disabled and left alone. Sure, I'd love to see royalty checks come in the mailbox, but they haven't yet and it's been quite a few years that I've been registered with ASCAP. Let these internet radio people help the artists that aren't in the cirle of the elite in Nashville or wherever you need to "know someone" to get heard to get played for someone to introduce you to someone that might know someone that knew someone years ago that played with someone that made a record, kinda thing. People are hearing my songs TODAY and seeing my name TODAY. While I am not receiving a royalty check, that's worth quite a bit to me. charley
Please support HR 2060 as it provides an international distribution of a huge variety of music. This is the way entertainment needs to go in today's world.
I adore sites like Pandora. Not only do I find new music, or old music new to me, but I also learn a lot of information about groups I've heard before. I tell everyone I know about Pandora, and I don't care if I sound like a commercial.
As a Studio DJ I'm stuck in front of my monitor most of the time; Internetradio allows me to stay updated in such a gamma of genres, this allows me to expand my euphonichal knowledge in many ways and also helps me decide which albums I should really purchase and not just gamble buying CD's at random.
Life long musician and listener of radio and shows. Internet radio allows me to explore more music than was previously possible while I'm at work. Increasing the royalties received by the record companies and NOT THE ARTISTS will inevitably increase mp3 piracy and make the situation worse for artists everywhere. As an artist, I want a neutral Internet which will allow independent artists and smaller distribution labels to play alongside musical juggernauts. This will destroy that possibility and create innumerable illegal pirate radio stations. The system will have created more criminals.
